There are so many reasons why bringing greenery into your home is essential. It not only adds an element of the outdoors which helps to boost your mood and health, but also adds a texture to your decor that you can’t find anywhere else. Choosing the right plant can be determined by a few different factors; current trends, maintenance, and where in the house it will thrive. The plants below will not only look fantastic in your home, but with some TLC will grow into beautiful plants.  Now time to get out that green thumb!

Ferns: These low maintenance plants come in an array of varieties. Their fluffy and airy fronds add dimension to any space . They require medium to low indirect sunlight and you only need to water these beauties weekly keeping their soil moist.  Hang them from the ceiling or keep them in a planter, the option is yours.

Dwarf Meyer Lemon Fruit Tree: During these long winter days, this citrus tree will boost your mood with it’s potent smell and pop of color.  They need as much sunlight as you can give it. The best place being directly in front of a window. Move the tree outdoors once the warm weather hits.  These plants are a little more high maintenance and require hand pollination and pruning for the fruit to actually grow, but are well worth the hard work.

Umbrella Plant:  This plant is all the rage right now.  It has a tropical look that can blend into any home, traditional or modern.  You should water this plant deeply, but infrequently a few times per month. Depending on the variety you choose, they come in varying heights and sizes. For optimal placement, find a bright room, but not in front of a window.
