Project Spotlight: Morton Home

I had the pleasure of helping to redecorate a small living room and entertainment area. The client’s were an older couple with 2 dogs and wanted a quiet room to read and also entertain a small group of friends. They wanted a space to seat 4-6 people while leaving a nice flow to the room and not overcrowding it with furniture. The floor plan was very straight forward considering they already had these gorgeous slipper chairs and tufted sofa. We opened up the arrangement and made things symmetrical by flanking the lounge chairs and also pairing them with 2 matching credenzas.

Their favorite colors are blue and red and they had existing chinoiserie artwork that they wanted to include in the design. Their walls I wanted to make a very light greige color that would accentuate their new bold red accents. I also wanted everything to be stay very neutral so that their art work would be the focal point in the room. The gold accents helped to tie everything together. I wanted to incorporate their chinoiserie with subtle asian accents such as the bamboo mirror and curved leg on the credenzas. I absolutely LOVE how this room is going to turn out!
