Project Spotlight: Kenmara Breakfast Room
I recently helped design a beautiful breakfast room for a friend of mine. This space when left alone is beyond gorgeous with tall ceilings and windows on every wall that showcase some breathtaking scenery. They already had a fun navy with red accent banquette and a textural beige rug in the space. To complete it I wanted to make enough seating for their family of 5, include storage for displaying accessories, and finish the room with decorative items that add color, pattern, and texture. The banquette fits so perfectly in the corner with their 54” marble top dining table. A tall hutch looks lovely against the wall next to the banquette and flanking the sliding door is potted greenery and floor vases. These are ideal because they won’t take up too much precious space in the corners and will leave plenty of room for running kiddos.
The blue dining chairs have a beautiful curve to them, helping to accentuate the shape of the table. I chose a tall hutch with glass doors to show off all of their fun accessories. For things that they want to keep hidden I suggest using woven baskets to store things. I love this lantern light fixture, it’s sophisticated yet understated and fits nicely in this bustling family’s eating area. The art work is sourced from a local artist in PA that I adore. The blue floral compliments the other blue details shown here. The french pleat drapery creates a more traditional vibe that blends nicely with the other classic elements. I am loving how this came together and can’t wait to see the finished look!
